Sea Lion Web Cam at Pier 39 in San Francisco

This animal web cam comes to you live from San Francisco’s famous Pier 39. These sea lions started taking over the docks in January 1990 shortly after the 1989 earthquake. At first there were about 10 to 50 of them, but due to the abundent supply of fish and available dock space, the population grew to 300 in a few months.

In the winter, the population grows to around 900, most of which are male.
